The following items can be found during the game:
All items can only be 'used' once. After that they dissapear from your inventory. Lockpicks and keys are the most common items, and can be found lying around more or less anywhere. The 'prisoner's uniform' can't actually be found anywhere in the game, (I don't think) but if using a memory editor, they are in there. If you switch from wearing a guards uniform to a prisoner's uniform, you lost the uniform you took off. Perhaps they couldn't get around this bug, and therefore decided not to allow the prisoner's uniform to be be part of normal gameplay. You'd think that when one was worn, the other would appear in your inventory. Not so. I have never found out how to use the rifle to shoot people. One thought was that there was some ammo for the rifle which I hadn't yet discovered, but memory editing has all be proved this to not be the case. If anyone does know, or discovers how to fire the rifle, please drop me a line. I suspect it was never actually implemented, though they can be found around the castle in normal gameplay. Never worked out what the stone is for either. I read somewhere it can distract guards attention, but I've never seen this work. Stone's can be found lying around the courtyard. When you press the use button while the stone is selected, it dissapears from your inventory. Again, if anyone discovers this items true use, drop me a line. Papers - Loads of these lying around. I read somewhere that you need them to leave via the main gate, but I have never been asked for them. The only thing guards have ever asked me for is a pass. Stethoscope - These can't be found in normal gameplay. You need to memory hack to obtain them. No use whatsoever. There are a few safe's around the castle, so it's possible that at one point in the game's creation, they thought you might be able to break into a safe by listening with a stethoscope. Might have made a nice subgame, but never mind. If anyone has anything they might like me to add to this page, drop me a line. You can email me: nick followed by a sqiggly 'a', followed by this sites name, without the "http://www." on the beginning, and without the /escapefromcolditz on the end. (I write like this so as not to recieve automated junk.) Of course, if you discover something I decide to add, I'll credit you on the site. (Unless you wish to remain anonymous) |
